Say hello to Nicole Liu, Procurement Manager at NEOZ. Since joining the team three years ago, Nicole has taken on a role that is anything but straightforward. Procurement at NEOZ means connecting creativity with practicality — finding materials that not only meet performance standards but also align with design intent and sustainability goals. It is a job that requires constant problem-solving, careful planning, and a sharp eye for detail.
When it comes to her favourite lamp, Nicole is drawn to the Gem Square Amber: “It is very soft and beautiful lighting at night, and this gives homes or venues a calm feeling.”
The Gem Square Amber is part of the Gem collection, known for its faceted diffuser that creates a jewel-like glow. In the amber finish, it casts a particularly warm, atmospheric light, making it a natural fit for dining tables, bars, or quiet lounge spaces. Rechargeable and portable, it balances function with elegance, offering venues a reliable way to bring calm and character into any setting.

More about Nicole
What does a typical day look like for you at NEOZ?
Each day is filled with challenges, but also with plenty of support from the team. At NEOZ, nothing ever feels repetitive or dull. There is always something new to tackle, which calls for creativity, careful planning, and persistence.
What’s something surprising people might not know about your role?
My role is much more complex than it may appear. Procurement is not only about ordering parts — it is about linking creativity to practicality. It requires knowledge of many different materials and processes, while also managing relationships and working within constraints. It’s a balance that can be difficult, but it is also very rewarding.

If you could swap jobs with someone at NEOZ for a day, who would it be and why?
I would swap with Tom, our logistics manager. I know a little about the challenges he deals with, but I have not been fully exposed to them. His work with customs is incredibly complex and involves so many uncertainties. It would be valuable to see up close how he ensures that every shipment successfully reaches the client.
What’s your dream hotel or restaurant (real or fictional)?
Soneva Secret in the Maldives — a place that combines natural beauty with a luxurious experience. (Soneva Secret is an exclusive eco-conscious resort in the remote Makunudhoo Atoll, offering just 14 luxury villas with complete privacy, personalised service, and sustainable barefoot luxury.)

What impact do you hope to have on your role and NEOZ?
I want to help develop a more streamlined supply chain, especially as our volumes continue to grow. I also aim to keep up with developments in materials and link this knowledge back into our products, so that what we make is more functional, sustainable, and aligned with market needs.
What does your ideal holiday or day off look like?
Relaxing and enjoyable time with family. Ideally, somewhere where the little ones are happily entertained, giving us all the chance to unwind together.
