Within the NEOZ studio, few people have seen the company evolve as closely as Design Manager Gabriel Tam. Over the past decade, he has played a central role in shaping the current generation of NEOZ cordless lamps. We sat down with Gabriel to reflect on a year of development and to look ahead to what 2026 may bring for materials, production, and the evolving expectations of the global hospitality world.
Albert was conceived as a quiet constant within refined hospitality spaces, a cordless table lamp designed for daily professional use. Shaped by the realities of restaurants and hotels, it prioritises balance, durability, and intuitive handling, relying on proportion and material honesty rather than ornamentation. The result is a composed, dependable object that sits confidently across varied interiors, designed to feel as considered on first impression as it does after years of use.
2026 shapes up to be one of the most exciting years yet for NEOZ. Building on strong creative and technical momentum, the team continues to refine portable lighting for real-world hospitality environments. From the N1 Light Engine to its modular design portfolio, the focus remains on durability, reliability, and adaptable solutions created to meet the demands of real-world venues.
Meet Kim Thelander-Thomas, Global Sales Consultant at NEOZ, whose passion and precision drive the company’s global success. From managing international sales to crafting custom lighting solutions, Kim brings energy and expertise to every client interaction. Her favourite lamps, the Bellingen with its warm timber elegance, and the white Tall Poppy, a modern statement in light, reflect her love for natural beauty and timeless design.
A change of seasons is the perfect time to refresh your portable lighting. Many of our signature lamps — including the Albert, Bellingen, Manhattan, Ritz, Elizabeth, and Victoria — offer interchangeable shades that subtly shift atmosphere and texture for the season. The Victoria also features refined sleeve options that add warmth and depth to its iconic silhouette. These small modular updates allow your lamps to evolve naturally, rather than needing replacement.
Extending the life of each lamp and reducing unnecessary waste has always been part of NEOZ’s design philosophy, and from mid-November, it will become even easier for customers to access the parts they need.
Amid a defining era of growth at NEOZ, Tammy helped shape the brand’s creative direction — from co-developing the now-iconic Cooee collection with Peter Ellis to playing a part in the introduction of the groundbreaking V4.5 system. The Cooee lamps, simple yet unmistakably NEOZ, became a hallmark of that evolution. We spoke with Tammy about those formative years, the creation of the Cooee range, and what she has carried forward since.
Each year, The World’s 50 Best Hotels list celebrates excellence in global hospitality — and this year’s rankings mark a proud moment for NEOZ. Roughly a third of the hotels recognised in the past year feature NEOZ portable cordless lamps, illuminating some of the world’s most refined restaurants, bars, and guest spaces.
The Big Group, one of Australia’s leading event companies, is renowned for transforming spaces with creativity and precision. At Sydney’s MCA Foundation Hall, they chose the NEOZ Elizabeth cordless lamp to complement the venue’s elegant Art Deco interiors. The lamp’s warm brass finish and soft illumination enhance the hall’s heritage charm, creating an atmosphere that’s both grand and intimate.
